About The Fennec

Located in the heart of the historic Parkside District on the southern side of downtown Birmingham, The Fennec is a beautifully renovated building from 1924. Originally an industrial complex housing a laundry and manufacturing facility for work and athletic uniforms, our 30,000-square-foot, two-story venue now offers unique spaces for a wide range of events, from intimate gatherings to large galas.

The Social

Welcome to The Social, our primary and largest event space. Perfect for weddings, rehearsal dinners, class reunions, conventions, concerts, corporate meetings, celebrations, non-profit fundraisers, fashion shows, and more. The Social occupies the entire second floor, accessible via a private entrance on 2nd Avenue South. It features one of the most elegant full-service bars in town, with white marble and rich brass accents. The space boasts 12-foot ceilings, hardwood floors, cedar beams, and columns, and exposed original brick, all contributing to maintaining the architectural integrity of the Old South in this beautifully restored space.

The Cypress boasts twelve-foot ceilings and expansive nine-foot windows that wrap around the room, flooding the airy and light space with beautiful natural light. This creates a stunning, picture-perfect setting for every event.

The Foxhole Lounge is an intimate cocktail venue bathed in dim lighting and adorned with rich colors, creating a cozy and inviting ambiance. The artisan cocktail bar, a highlight of this stylish space, offers a curated selection of exquisite drinks, perfect for unwinding and socializing. The lounge’s sophisticated decor and plush furnishings exude elegance and charm, making it an ideal setting for relaxed gatherings and memorable evenings. Whether you’re hosting a private party, a corporate happy hour, or simply enjoying a night out, The Foxhole Lounge promises a captivating and refined experience.

Private dining with nine-foot windows that bring southern natural light and a friendly ambiance. This space is excellent for small celebrations, offering high ceilings and beautiful natural light.

Great For: Private dinners, birthday celebrations, family gatherings, small corporate meetings and dinners, showers, engagement parties

Booking Next Steps

Planning an event may seem like a huge undertaking. Trust us, here at The Fennec, we know how much goes into making your event perfect. We talked to Ashley Carraway, our Events Manager, and asked a few questions on what planning an event with our team is like! She gave us great feedback that addresses most of our client’s main concerns in this brief FAQ!


The first step in planning an event at The Fennec is to reach out via our website, email, or phone. We will discuss guest count and overall vision to see which room would be best for your event! There is no need to come fully prepared, as we are excited to talk through ideas and plans!
Once you have signed your contract and secured your venue, the next step is to start putting together your ideal menu! You will work with our sales manager to create a customized menu for your event.
We offer food, beverage, and valet packages, as well as a built-in after-party option.
